-Usually the first symptom recognized by people suffering from hemorrhoids, or piles, is rectal itching, rectal burning, or pain during a bowel movement. This symptom often is overlooked which will delay treatment of piles.

-Blood in the stool is usually the symptom that causes most people to get help. The problem with using this symptom of piles as an indicator is the fact that blood in the stool can be caused by a variety of ailments. People assume that red blood is always going to be bright red, but if the blood is little old it might appear more of a brownish color. If the blood in your stool is darker, you should seek medical attention immediately as this can be a sign of internal bleeding. Always err on the side of caution when looking at symptoms of piles.

-Piles tend to discharge a mucus. This slimy discharge is not only a symptom itself but will cause a secondary symptom of irritated skin.

-Often times people feel that they haven’t emptied their bowels completely when they have piles. Directly after going to the bathroom people will still sometimes feel like their bowels are full. You may feell like your suffering from constipation and often times your stools may be very small.

-Piles also can cause a sharp aching pain right in your rectum. This is caused from the swelling and is usually more prominent when you’re trying to evacuate.

-Piles themselves, also known as hemorrhoids, are actually inflamed blood vessels in your rectum. These can actually be felt sometimes as a lump in your anus. If you feel you might have piles simply reach down there and check it out yourself.

Should You Get Treated For Symptoms of Piles?

Many times due to embarrassment people delay getting piles treatment. Even though most cases of piles, or hemorrhoids, can be treated at home with some simple changes in your diet or changes in your behaviors anyone who experiences rectal bleeding should seek a doctor’s advice as soon as possible.

Treating piles is more a matter of making simple changes in your habits, there is no mirace cure or remedy that you can take or apply that will fix the underlying condition. Recognizing the signs and symptoms of hemorrhoids is the first step in your treatment.

A lot of the symptoms of piles can also be attributed to much more serious conditions therefore if you suspect you have them, even if you’re going to treat them yourself at home, you would be doing yourself a service to have them checked out by a medical professional.

There are two main types of piles, internal hemorrhoids and external hemorrhoids. Obviously, external piles of the to be the easiest to recognize; and unfortunately internal piles, which are swollen vessels in your anal canal, often go ignored until the symptoms become quite severe. It’s very important that if you feel anything unusual during a bowel movement that you look for other indications that you might have piles.

Ignoring symptoms of piles can be very serious as rectal bleeding can become very dangerous very quickly.

  1. i feel the lump next to my rectum – it feels like the size of a ping pong ball! I know that since I cannot see it and am only feeling it it more than likely is much smaller. However, a sitz bath did temporarily help the immediate pain – but I cannot make a doctor appt right now (it is after hours) so I will try the preparation h.
